Hawaii's Plantation Village 4/25/09

The 6th class shoot took us to Waipahu's Hawaii's Plantation Village. This is also the first time I took my 50d to a real life shoot. Somehow, I feel the 50d is more sensitive to light than the XT and so most of my shots look kinda overexposed. Shooting indoor then outdoor, dark then bright, made it challenging to constantly adjust the settings. This definitely gave me good practice in finding where where the settings are on the camera.
They call this the time tunnel. This leads to the old village houses. There are many plantation-style houses decorated in the old days.In a lot of the rooms, there was usually a really bright window that threw off my exposure and the window became blown out. Argh!
It was a really great study in light and dark.
Here's the dentist office of olden days.
Here's my attempt at a "near to far" shot of the old train.

Looks like the 50D has better resolution. I like picture in front of the window and the near-to-far is good too. Great shooting.

Very nice . . . I've never been there. I need to go check it out myself.
